DESCRIPTION:This webinar presents the first set of findings from an impact project between the University of Nottingham (Dr Philippa Tomczak) and the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman (Sue McAllister) which seeks to contribute to a reduction in deaths and safer prisons by linking Ombudsman fatal incident investigations to practice in prisons and healthcare. \nPhilippa and Sue met in January 2019 at a Prison Reform Trust Prisoner Policy Network event. Research has been undertaken with (former) prisoners\, Ombudsman staff\, prison governors\, Safer Custody Group Leads and Coroners. \n \nPresentations regarding the broader project will be provided by Dr Philippa Tomczak and Sue McAllister. Presentations examining reflections from those with lived experience of imprisonment will be provided by the Prison Reform Trust (Fabien Decodts\, Paula Harriott and Dr Lucy Wainwright) and Revolving Doors Agency (Alyce-Ellen Barber and Lauren Bennett). Sara Hyde will chair. Webinar attendees will be invited to discuss and problem solve about what we do with these important findings.
